Michael Cohen, Ph.D.
Managing Partner, The Michael Cohen Group, LLC
Michael Cohen, Ph.D. is known around the world as a provider of superior qualitative and quantitative research studies. His background as a Developmental Psychologist and clinician has shaped the MCG philosophy, which is to go beyond behavior and surface responses to pursue the deepest possible understanding of why individuals act the way they do.
In the aftermath of the World Trade Center bombing, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani called Michael to be part of his crisis response team. In this role, he counseled the Mayor on the effects of trauma, and worked closely with the former and current Commissioners of Health and Mental Health and with the Board of Education to create materials for teachers and parents on how to talk to children about these events, in addition to coordinating counseling services offered by the city and the schools.
Michael serves on the advisory boards for the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR), the National Child Labor Committee, and the Children's Museum of Manhattan. He has also served as an advisor to, member of, or editor on many social, political, children's, and marketing projects, panels, and journals.
Before starting The Michael Cohen Group, Michael was Managing Director and founding member of Applied Research and Consulting LLC. He holds a Ph.D. in psychology from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
