Carmen Milagros Schmidt

Carmen Schmidt is Education Services Director for WTTW. Schmidt has been on staff at WTTW for 15 years. For the past four years, Schmidt has built WTTW's outreach project from the ground up, creating partnerships with early childhood educational institutions, social service agencies and daycare associations throughout the Chicago area. Schmidt has developed and managed family literacy presentations and events for audiences of twenty parents to several hundred children and their families.
Prior to her current position, Schmidt was responsible for the day-to-day broadcast of all interstitial material and the production of interstitials for the most watched children's line-up of programming in the nation, WTTW Kids. For 14 years, Schmidt has been the voice-over announcer for WTTW Kids. Schmidt earned her undergraduate degree in Mass Communications with a minor in psychology at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.
