John Lee is considered a leader and the premiere brand builder within the educational toy industry. Experienced in managing several successful business ventures, he was President and founder of Learning Curve International, which grew to a $140 million privately-held international designer, manufacturer and marketer of developmental children's products including Thomas the Tank Engine wooden trains and Lamaze infant development toys. After Learning Curve's acquisition by RC2 Corp. in March of 2003, Mr. Lee served as President of the Learning Curve division and as Executive Vice President of RC2, with specific responsibility for new business development, brand strategies and key market relationships. He joined the Ready to Learn Partnership in late 2005. The author of numerous trade articles on brand management, product innovation and merchandising, he is the recipient of the 2004 inaugural Playthings Industry Achievement Award for Brand Builder (for the Thomas the Tank Engine train brand) and the 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association.
